Creating Posts for Socials

Learn how to post photos and videos to social media directly from a Project or the Social Posts page using Marketing Suite.

Marketing Suite lets you post photos and videos to Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, and YouTube directly from CompanyCam. Post now or schedule for later, as many times as you want.

This feature is part of the Marketing Suite Add-on and is only available on the web app.

Start a post

You can start a social post from three places in CompanyCam. Each one leads to the same publishing screen, covered in Create social posts below.

Note: Only Admins and Managers can access the Marketing Suite.

From a Project

  1. Open the Project you want to share from.

  2. Select the photos or videos you want to post.

  3. Click Share within the actions menu, then select Post to Social.

From the Social Posts page

  1. Click Social Posts in the left navigation menu.

  2. Click + Social Post.

  3. Select the Project you want to post from, choose media, and select Confirm.

From a Showcase

  1. Click Portfolio in the left sidebar.

  2. Click + Showcase a Project.

  3. Select the Project you want to Showcase.

  4. Update Showcase details and customize images. For more detail, see Showcasing a Project in Marketing Suite.

  5. Click Add to Portfolio.

Create social posts

  1. Confirm the location you're posting as, or switch to a different one. Your connected social channels are set per location, so the channels you see here belong to the location you've selected.

  2. To share to your social channels, choose a format for each selected channel: Video/Reel, Image, or Carousel. All connected channels are selected by default. Click the blue checkmark next to a channel to deselect it before publishing.

  3. Click Edit Caption underneath the post to edit a caption manually, or click Writing Assistant to enhance it with AI, then click Save.

Customize your Reel

If you selected Video/Reel for a channel, use these steps to pick a Reel Template, choose photos, and add music.

  1. Click a social channel card that offers a Reel or Video, then click Customize Reel.

  2. Select a Reel Template from the available options. Each Template card displays a design preview.

    • Static Templates use set framing and animation, so their cards show the exact number of photos required.

    • Dynamic Templates work with a varied number of photos, so a range of numbers is listed.

  3. Click Edit under Reel Photos to edit which photos you want viewed in the Reel.

  4. Click the arrow icon beneath Choose Background Music to select music for your Reel.

  5. Click Apply to All Reels once you've finalized your selections

Share to social

Click Publish Now to publish right away.

To schedule for later:

  1. Click the arrow icon next to Publish Now, then click Schedule for Later.

  2. Select a date on the calendar, or click Today to use today's date.

  3. Click the hour and minute fields to set a time, then click Save.

  4. Click Schedule for [DATE]. Your scheduled post will be listed under Scheduled on the Social Posts page.

Save a post as a draft

  1. Build your post using any of the steps above.

  2. Click Save as Draft. Your media, channel selections, and captions are saved as-is, and you can come back to the post whenever you're ready.

FAQs

Can I post to select social channels?

To post to select social channels, deselect any channels you don't want to post to before publishing by clicking their blue checkmarks. You can change your selection every time you publish.

Can I connect a social account to each location if we have more than 1 location?

You can connect social media accounts to each location. Every location keeps its own set of connected social channels, so a post goes out from the accounts tied to the location you're posting from. See Managing your Google Business Profile in Marketing Suite for more information.

Can I schedule posts for different times per platform?

Scheduled posts go out at the same date and time across every connected platform. You can't stagger them by channel right now. They post all at once.

What's the difference between static and dynamic Reel Templates?

Static and dynamic Reel Templates differ in how many photos they take. Static Templates are built around a set number of photos with specific framing and animation, so the Template card tells you exactly how many you need. Dynamic Templates are simpler and more flexible, using up to 12 photos. Crossfade/Dissolve and Swipe are dynamic.

Which Reel Template should I use?

Pick a Reel Template based on how many photos you have. If your photo count matches a static Template, that Template gives you more polished framing and animation. If you have an unusual number of photos, or you want the same look no matter how many you select, use a dynamic Template like Crossfade/Dissolve or Swipe.
