Creating a Report

Learn how to build a Report from your Project photos, add Sections, and pull in photos from multiple Projects on web and mobile.

A Report turns your Project photos into a clean, shareable document that tells the story of the job. Use one to walk a customer through the work, show progress, or hand off proof of what got done.

This feature is available on select plans.

On the web

Note: All permission roles can create Reports. Restricted Users can only create and view Reports in Projects that they created or are assigned to.

Create the Report

Log in to CompanyCam and open the Project you'd like to build a Report for.

  1. Click on the Documents Tab in the Project.

  2. Click on the Reports Tab, then click + Create Report.

  3. Choose whether to create a new Report from scratch or create a Report from a Template.

  4. Name your Report, choose a page layout, then click Create Report. You can change the page layout later, if needed.

Important: If you don't name your Report or choose a photo layout, you won't be able to move on to the next step.

Add Sections

Once your Report exists, build it out with Sections. Sections group related photos, so you can break a job out by area, phase, or trade.

  1. Rename your first Section by clicking the Pencil Icon next to the Section Title.

  2. Click the Section Summary to add important info or findings. Insert saved text with the Text Snippet Icon below the box. See Text Snippets to set those up.

  3. Click New Section in the left panel to add another Section, then name it and give it a summary.

Add photos to the Report

  1. In an empty Section, click Add Photos. In a Section that already has photos, hover between photos and click the + Icon above or below one to insert more.

  2. To pull in photos from other Projects, click the Projects filter icon in the photo picker and choose the Projects you want. Select your photos, then click Add Photos.

  3. Click Photo Options to the right of the Section title to load photo descriptions and comments, rearrange photos, or move photos to another Section.

    1. To load the photo description or photo comments of a single photo rather than all photos in a Section, click the Three Dots Icon to the right of the photo.

Pro tip: Use photo filtering such as Date Range, User, User Groups, and Tags to quickly find the photos you're searching for across your Projects.

Edit Report Settings

Click Manage in the top-right of the Report, then select Settings. From here, you can edit the Report Title, add a Subtitle, add Page Header info, change the Page Layout, and toggle Photo Details on or off.

Note: Report footers can't be customized.

To edit the Cover Page, click Cover Page above your Report Sections. Toggle your Cover Photo, Company Logo, and any Cover Page details on or off.

FAQs

Can I recover deleted Report text?

Deleted Report text can't be recovered. Text fields auto-save as you make changes, so anything you remove is gone once it's deleted.

If I update my company's logo, will the new logo appear on old Reports?

A new logo won't backfill onto Reports you've already created. Once you update your logo, it shows only on content created from that point forward.

Can I add a video to a Report?

Videos can't be added to a Report. Reports support photos only.

Can Restricted Users create and view Reports?

Restricted Users can create and view Reports, but only within Projects they created or are assigned to.

Do shared Report links expire?

Yes — Shared Report links expire after 30 days. If the recipient hasn’t downloaded the Report within that timeframe, a new link will need to be generated and shared.
