Before you start
Only Admins and Managers can assign and unassign Users. If you do not have one of these roles, reach out to your Admin.
Assigning Projects
On the web
Open the Project in CompanyCam that you'd like to assign Users to.
Click on Project Users or the Pencil Icon on the right-side panel.
Click Assign Users to select Users for the Project. On the Project Users screen you'll see Users who contributed to the Project or have been assigned to the Project.
You can choose to assign one or more Users at a time, or you can select to assign a Group.
Once assigned to a Project, each User will be notified, and once they tap on the notification, it will take them to the assigned Project.
In the app
Open your Project and tap on the Menu Button.
Within the Users Section, tap + Assign.
Scroll through your Users and select the User(s) you'd like to assign to the Project.
Tap on the Assign option at the top of the page or select the blue Assign User button.
Unassigning Users
On the web
Open any Project in CompanyCam that you'd like to unassign Users from.
Click on Project Users or the Pencil Icon on the right-side panel.
Find the User you'd like to unassign from the Project and click on Unassign on the right side.
In the app
Open your Project and tap on the Menu Button.
Within the Users Section, tap on the Three Dots Icon to the right side of the User you'd like to unassign.
Tap Unassign User.
Confirm that you'd like to unassign the user by tapping Unassign.

Assigning a Project means designating one or more Users to a specific Project, linking them to it. If your User has the Restricted permission role, assigning them to the Project ensures they will have access to it.

Are Users notified when they're assigned to a Project?
Yes, once a User is assigned to a Project, they receive a notification. When they tap on that notification, it takes them directly to the assigned Project.

What is the difference between an Assigned User and a Project Contributor?
The difference between Project Contributors and Assigned Users:
Project Contributor: A User who has contributed to the Project by adding photos, comments, or other content.
Assigned User: A User who has been manually assigned to the Project by an Admin or Manager.
Project Contributors and Assigned Users both appear in the Project Users section of a Project. Assigned Users are identified by a green 'Assigned' Label.
If I unassign a Restricted User from a Project, will they maintain access?
If I unassign a Restricted User from a Project, will they maintain access?
No. If you unassign a Restricted User from a Project, they will no longer be able to access the Project. Restricted Users only have access to the Projects they create themselves or the Projects they're assigned to.
