Merging combines two CompanyCam accounts into one. All the content from the account you're closing moves into the account you're keeping, so your whole team works from a single account going forward. Merging is a common step when you have duplicate accounts, or you're bringing separate crews, locations, or businesses together.
Important: A merge is permanent and can't be undone. Once two accounts are merged, the account being closed is deleted, and its data can't be recovered. Anyone who was using that account will lose access to it entirely. Make sure everyone on both accounts is on board before you request a merge.
Before you request a merge
A merge affects both accounts and everyone on them, so there are a few things to have lined up before you start.
To request a merge, you'll need:
At least 10 Projects on the account being merged
Written approval from all Admins on both accounts
The names of both accounts, plus a decision on which one you're keeping and which one will be deleted
Checking eligibility
Only accounts with 10 or more Projects can be merged. If the account you want to merge has fewer than 10 Projects, you'll move that content over manually instead of requesting a merge:
Follow How to Download / Save Photos from CompanyCam to save the photos from the smaller account.
Follow Upload Existing Photos to add them to the account you're keeping.
Once everything is in the account you're keeping, you can cancel the smaller account.
Check your user seats before merging
Before you request a merge, review the active Users on the account being deleted and compare them to the account you're keeping. If the same person is active on both accounts, they'll take up a seat on each, and those duplicate seats can increase your billing once the accounts are combined.
We recommend deactivating any Users you don't need on the account being deleted before you request the merge, so you're only paying for the seats you actually use. For steps, see Deactivate a User. For more on adding, editing, and organizing Users, visit Managing Users.
How to request a merge
The easiest and fastest way to request a merge is by email, with every Admin on one thread so all approvals land in one place.
We require confirmation from every Admin on both accounts before we start. A merge can't be undone, so the deleted account and its data are gone for good. Combining two teams can also increase your number of user seats, which may change your billing. Getting written approval from everyone keeps your account secure and makes sure the whole team is on the same page before anything changes.
Send an email to [email protected].
CC all Admins on both accounts in that same email.
Tell us which account you're keeping and which account should be merged and deleted.
Ask every Admin to reply on the thread with the confirmation below.
Every Admin on both accounts needs to reply. Please reply confirming the following:
You approve the merge of:
Account being kept: [CompanyCam account name #1]
Account being merged and deleted: [CompanyCam account name #2]
You understand and agree that:
What transfers
Everything below moves from the deleted account into the account you're keeping:
All Projects (minus Collaborated Projects)
Photos and videos
Documents
Users and guest users
Groups, Checklists
Checklist Templates
Project notepad
Project collaborators
Reports and report templates
Text snippets
Showcases
Voice notes
Comments and descriptions (they move with their associated images)
Annotations (they move with their associated images)
Project conversations (they move with their associated Projects)
Labels
Tags
What doesn't transfer
A handful of items stay with the closed account and won't appear on the account you're keeping:
Project descriptions
Project templates
Pages
Collaborated Projects.
The comments and descriptions on individual photos do move over. It's the Project-level descriptions that don't, so if you rely on those, copy them somewhere safe before the merge.
Important: Save or recreate anything from this list that you still need before the merge. The closed account can't be recovered afterward, so anything that doesn't transfer will be lost once the merge is complete.
What happens after you submit
Once we've received written approval from all required Admins, our Support team submits the merge. Merges usually finish within 2 to 3 business days after we receive all confirmations. You'll receive an email reply from a Support rep once the merge is complete.

What happens to users on the deleted account?

Will users need to re-accept invitations?
Users keep the same login, so there's no invitation to re-accept. They'll sign in with the same username (email) and password as before. If anyone can't remember their password, they can select "Forgot Password?" on the login screen to reset it.
