Followup CRM is a customer relationship management tool built for construction sales and bidding. Once you connect the two, Projects sync in both directions: create an entry in Followup CRM and generate a matching CompanyCam Project from it, or create a Project in CompanyCam and see it appear in Followup CRM. Photos taken in a linked CompanyCam Project sync back to the Followup CRM entry, so your sales and production records stay documented without anyone uploading files by hand.
This integration is available on all plans and is only available on the web app.
How the integration works
Each Followup CRM User connects their own CompanyCam account. That keeps the documentation user-specific across both services, so it's a per-person setup rather than a one-time company-wide switch.
Once connected, a Followup CRM entry and a CompanyCam Project can be tied together from either side. After they're linked, photos you take in that CompanyCam Project sync into the Followup CRM entry under Documents.
Setting up the integration
Note: You must have Admin or Manager permissions in CompanyCam to set up this integration. Check with your Followup CRM admin for the equivalent role there.
Every Followup CRM User who needs photos to sync connects their own CompanyCam account. Connecting one account doesn't cover your whole team.
Log in to Followup CRM and click My Settings.
Select the Integrations tab.
Click Connect to CompanyCam and sign in to CompanyCam if you're prompted.
Confirm the status shows as connected. Disconnect appears in the same spot whenever you need to remove the integration.
Note: If you need support integrating or have any issues with the integration, reach out to Followup CRM at [email protected] or use their live chat.
Creating a Project from Followup CRM
Create a new Project in Followup CRM under File Data.
Enter the Project name, address, and any other details you need, then save.
Click Create CompanyCam at the top of the Followup CRM entry.
Click View CompanyCam, which replaces the Create button once the Project exists, to open it in CompanyCam.
Photos you take in that CompanyCam Project sync back to the Followup CRM entry under Documents.
Photos taken before the Followup CRM entry exists won't sync. Only photos added after the two are linked come across, so create the entry first.
Creating a Project from CompanyCam
Create a new Project in CompanyCam and a matching record appears in Followup CRM. The CompanyCam Project has to have a name before it will show up. If you left it unnamed, add one and it'll sync.
Since Projects can start on either side, it's worth checking whether one already exists before you make a new one. If you do end up with duplicates, see Merging Projects for the steps, then delete the leftover Project in Followup CRM.
Choosing where photos land in Followup CRM
Followup CRM sorts synced photos into file folders. Create a folder named Photos so they have somewhere to go.
Go to your Followup CRM company settings, open the File Folders tab, click the + button, and type Photos.
Without a Photos folder, CompanyCam photos go into whatever folder is listed first in Followup CRM.
FAQs
What doesn't sync between the two?
What doesn't sync between the two?
Documents, Checklists, Tasks, and Reports don't sync between CompanyCam and Followup CRM. The integration covers Projects and photos.
Photos taken before the Followup CRM entry was created don't backfill either. Everything after the link is made syncs normally.
Does every User need to connect?
Does every User need to connect?
Every Followup CRM User who wants photos to sync connects their own CompanyCam account. The connection is per User, not per company, so a new hire won't inherit it.
Why are my photos in the wrong folder?
Why are my photos in the wrong folder?
Photos landing in an unexpected folder usually means there's no Photos folder in Followup CRM yet. Create one in your company settings under the File Folders tab and new photos will sort there.
What if I create duplicate Projects?
What if I create duplicate Projects?
Duplicate Projects can be combined in CompanyCam. See Merging Projects for the steps, then delete the duplicate entry in Followup CRM.
Merging can only be done on the web app, and only photos, Files, Reports, and Documents transfer.
How do I disconnect the integration?
How do I disconnect the integration?
Disconnecting happens in Followup CRM, under My Settings > Integrations, in the same place you connected. Reconnecting works the same way.
