A good photo report does more than show your work. It builds trust, and it's one of the fastest ways to stand out before you even send the final invoice. Use these tips to get more out of your Pages.

What can I do with a Page?

A Page is a free-flowing, customizable document inside CompanyCam. Think of it like a digital notebook that lives alongside your Project photos. The use case is endless, but here are some examples of how you can use Pages:

  • Repair logs — document what was found, what was fixed, and when

  • Inspection reports — walk clients through conditions before and after

  • Service invoices — combine photos with line items in a single shareable document

  • Labor timesheets — track time and scope alongside visual proof of work

  • Client-facing summaries — tell the story of a job from start to finish

Pages can be created from scratch, built from a Page Template you've saved, or started from one of CompanyCam's example Templates, so you're never starting from a blank page unless you want to.


Best practices for building a photo report

Tagging photos as you go

The easiest way to build a polished Page is to use Tags in your photos as you take them. If you're working on a roofing job, for example, you might use Tags like Gutters, Ridge, Decking, and Interior. When it's time to build the Page, your photos are already sorted.

Pro tip: Agree on a standard set of Tags with your crew before the job starts. Consistent tagging across your team means less cleanup when you're ready to share with a customer.


Tell a story, not just a status

The photos you include should guide the client through what happened, in order. A great client report answers these questions:

  • What did you find? Conditions before work began

  • What did you do? The work performed, with visual proof

  • What does it look like now? The finished result


Add context to every section

Photos alone don't tell the full story. Use the text blocks in your Page to add brief, plain-language explanations of what the client is looking at. You don't need to write an essay. 1-2 sentences per section are enough to make clients feel informed and confident in your work.


Use AI to speed up the writing

AI features for Pages can help you draft section summaries, clean up language, and fill in descriptions faster than typing from scratch. Use it to get a first draft on the page quickly, then personalize it with job-specific details.

It’s expected that your clients aren't going to read every word. Design your report so the key information is visible at a glance:

  • Limit each section to the most relevant photos

  • Lead with the most important findings or results

  • Save detailed notes for customers who want to dig in


Brand it like you mean it

A polished report reflects a polished business. It's often a customer's first impression of how you operate. Add a cover page and a header so your reports are instantly recognizable, and include a short professional summary first to give readers context before the details. Keep the tone consistent with how you actually talk to customers. It doesn't need to be formal, just intentional.


Send it before they have to ask

One of the highest-impact habits you can build: send the report proactively, before the customer reaches out wondering how things went. A well-timed photo report after a completed job shows initiative, builds trust, and alleviates the customer's concern about the progress.

Tap Share at the top of your Page. You'll get a link you can send via text, email, or any messaging app. Your client can open it in any browser with no CompanyCam account or app required. The Page looks professional on both desktop and mobile, so it works no matter how your client opens it.

If you work with Spanish-speaking clients: Shared Page links can be translated into Spanish. Your customer can tap the Language menu on the shared link and switch to Spanish without you having to do anything extra.
