Chat lets you talk to CompanyCam Assistant by typing or talking — ask questions about your jobs, build Pages and Checklists, find photos, notify your crew, and more. It's available on every page in CompanyCam, so you can get things done without losing your place.

What you can do
When you open a new chat, you'll see 6 suggested prompts to help you get started:
Project Q&A — Ask questions about a Project and get answers from your actual photos, notes, tasks, and job history. No digging required.
Create a page — Draft a polished Project Page from your photos.
Capture to-dos — Create a punch list from today's photos and notes.
Notify team — Send instructions to new crew members. Notifications show up in their CompanyCam notification center. Push notifications depend on each recipient's notification settings.
Find photos — Search for photos across your Projects by keyword or tag.
Next steps — Get advice on what a Project needs next based on what's already in CompanyCam.
You're not limited to these — type or ask the Assistant anything related to your jobs, and it will do its best to help. If it can't do something, it will tell you. A few more things you can ask:
"Build me a progress report for the Johnson project."
"Tag today's photos on the Hendricks job by room."
"What's still open on the Riverside project?"
Note: Only Admins and Managers have access to the CompanyCam Assistant.
On the web
Starting a chat
Click the ✨ Assistant button in the lower-right corner of any page in CompanyCam to open the chat panel. Click + New in the top-right of the panel to start a new conversation.
Type your question or request in the Ask me anything field and press Enter. The Assistant responds using your real CompanyCam data.
Attaching context
Click the + button in the bottom left of the chat input to attach images, Files, or Pages from any of your existing Projects. This gives the Assistant more specific context for what you're asking.
Viewing chat history
Click the Chat history Icon at the top of the Assistant panel to see your past conversations. Select any conversation to reopen and continue it.
To start a fresh conversation at any time, click + New.
In the app
Starting a chat
Tap the ✨ button on the Home or Project screen to open a new chat directly.
Note: If you tap ✨ from a Project screen, the Assistant will assume you want to work within that Project. Tap ✨ on the Home screen to work across all your Projects.
Type your question or request in the Ask me anything field. The Assistant responds using your real CompanyCam data.
To speak your request directly to the Assistant instead of typing, tap the microphone button.
Attaching context
Click the + button in the bottom left of the chat input to attach images, Files, or Pages from any of your existing Projects. Once attached, you can ask the Assistant questions or take action based on what you shared. For example:
Attach one or multiple images and ask "What work is shown in these photos?"
Attach a File and ask "Summarize the notes from this document"
Attach a Page and tell the Assistant to create an inventory list from your notes.
Note: You can attach up to 10 items per chat.
Viewing chat history
Tap the hamburger menu to open the Assistant home screen. Your recent conversations are listed under Recents. Tap any conversation to reopen and continue it.
Tap New Chat at the bottom of the screen to start a fresh conversation.

For anything shared outside of CompanyCam — like sending photos to a client or sharing a proposal — the Assistant will show you exactly what it's about to do and wait for your confirmation. It doesn't act without your go-ahead.
Where do crew notifications go?

Notifications sent through the Assistant show up in the recipient's CompanyCam notification center. Whether they also receive a push notification depends on their individual notification settings.
Can I attach photos from my device?

Not directly. The + button lets you attach images, files, and pages from Projects already in CompanyCam. Uploading files from your device isn't supported in chat.

Yes. Chats are only visible to the User who created them.

Chats can't be deleted at this time.
What if the Assistant can't do what I asked?

The Assistant will let you know if it can't help with something. It's designed to assist with contractor-related tasks inside CompanyCam — if you ask for something outside that scope, it will say so.
