Advanced Checklists give your team a smarter way to standardize job-site work. You can build Templates with conditional logic that show or hide fields based on what's entered, drag and drop to restructure sections, and require photos to complete any field.
This feature is available on select plans and can only be created on the web app.
Creating an Advanced Checklist Template
Note: Only Admins and Managers can create Checklist Templates.
Log in to CompanyCam and go to Templates on the left sidebar.
Click on the Checklists Tab, then click + Create Checklist Template.
In the drop-down menu, click Advanced Checklist.
Add a Template Name and Description.
Click + Add Section to create a new Section.
Click + Add Field to create a new Field.
Give the Field a title describing the task to complete.
Once you've given the Field a title, choose 1 of the following question types:
To require a photo in the Field, click the Camera Icon to the right of the question types.
To use the drag and drop option to reorder Fields and Sections at any point as you build, hover over the Field or Section title and click and drag the Rearrange Icon on the right.
Adding conditional logic
Conditional logic lets you build follow-up questions that only appear when a crew member selects a specific answer. Crews only see what's relevant to their job, nothing more.
Select a field within your Template.
Hover your cursor over the answer field and click + Add Conditional Field.
Adding reference photos
Note: Admins and Managers can add reference photos to a Field.
Reference photos give your crew a clear example of what a completed Field should look like. Add reference photos or videos to a Field while building your Template, and they'll appear for crews when they complete the Checklist, on both web and mobile.
Select a Field within your Template.
Click the 3 Dots Icon and click Add reference photo.
Choose to select photos or videos from an existing Project, or upload from your device.
Click Done to add them to the Field.
Duplicating Fields and Sections
To duplicate a Field or Section, hover over the area and click the Duplicate Icon.
Renaming a Section, Field, or Checklist Title
Renaming an Advanced Checklist Title
Hover over the Title of your Advanced Checklist and click into it.
Type to update the title, and edits will save automatically
Renaming a Section or Field
Hover over the Section or Field you'd like to rename.
Click the 3 Dots Icon that appears and click Rename.
Make your edits and click Enter on your keyboard or click away to save.

What is the difference between a Section and a Field?
What is the difference between a Section and a Field?
Sections and Fields serve different roles in a Template. Sections are organizational containers that group related Fields together, like phases, categories, or rooms on a job — "Pre-Work," "Kitchen," or "Final Walkthrough", for example. Fields are the individual items crew members respond to, like a question, a photo prompt, or a text input. Every Field lives inside a Section, so set up Sections first, then build the Fields within each one.
