Checklist Templates let you build a Checklist once and reuse it across any Project. Whether you're documenting job-site conditions, tracking a punch list, or enforcing a consistent inspection process, Templates save you the work of rebuilding the same list every time.
This feature is available on select plans.
On the web
To create and manage a Checklist Template, you'll need to have the Admin or Manager role. If you don't have that role, ask an Admin on your company's account for permission.
Create a Checklist Template from an existing Checklist
Open your Project, click on the Checklists Tab, and open the Checklist you'd like to create a Template from.
To create a Template, click the 3 Dots Icon in the upper-right corner of the Checklist, then click Save Checklist as Template.
Title the Checklist Template and click Create New Template.
Create a Checklist Template within the Templates Library
Click Templates within the left-hand navigation menu under Resources.
Navigate to Checklists, then click + Create Checklist Template.
Duplicate a Checklist Template
Click Templates within the left-hand navigation menu under Resources.
Open the Checklist Template you'd like to duplicate.
Click Duplicate Template at the top of the page.
That's it! A copy of the Template now lives in your Checklist Templates section.
Mark a Template Section Not Applicable
Click Templates within the left-hand navigation menu under Resources.
Open the Checklist Template you'd like to edit.
To mark a section Not Applicable, toggle the Section Required off.
That's it! Now, when Users access the Template in a Project from the mobile app, they will be able to mark the section N/A.
Use a Checklist Template
Open your Project and click the Checklists Tab.
Click + Create Checklist and then Classic Template.
Choose the Checklist Template you'd like to use. Click + Use Template, and the Checklist will be added to your Project.

Create a Checklist Template from an existing Checklist
Tap on the To-Dos Tab of the Project and select the Checklist you'd like to create a Template for.
Tap on the 3 Dots Icon near the top right corner of the page, and select Save Checklist as Template.
Title the Checklist Template and tap Save Template.
Use a Checklist Template
Open the Project that you'd like to add a Checklist Template to.
Tap on the To-Dos Tab.
Tap on the black + Checklist Icon.
Tap the Classic Template option within the menu.
Tap on the Checklist Template you'd like to use from your Template Library. After selecting your Template, the Checklist will be added to your Project.

Can I edit a Checklist Template after it's been created?
Yes. Open the Template from Templates > Checklists on the web and make your changes. Edits to a Template won't affect Checklists already added to existing Projects — only new instances will reflect the updated Template.

You can save an existing Checklist as a Template from the mobile app, but creating a Template from scratch is only available on the web.
