Integrate CompanyCam + Jobber

Integrate CompanyCam + Jobber to manage your job site documentation easier than ever before!

Updated this week

Before you start

What is Jobber?

Jobber is an end-to-end business management system for your home service company. The software handles everything from customer relationship management, quoting, scheduling, job tracking, invoicing, and a whole lot more!

Setup

  1. Open CompanyCam. On the left-hand side, under Resources, select Integrations.

  2. Look for the Jobber card under the available integration options and select Jobber.

  3. Click the Connect button to start the integration process.

  4. A pop-up window will appear. In this window, you will see an option labeled "Sync Primary Contacts to CompanyCam." This option allows your clients’ contact information to sync over to the Projects Contact Info section in CompanyCam. If you want to enable this, click the checkbox next to it.

  5. After selecting the option, click Save in the pop-up window.

  6. Once you click Save, you will be prompted to Allow Access to Jobber. If you are not already signed in, enter your Jobber account credentials to authorize the integration.

  7. Integration is connected! If you'd like to enable the Auto Assign Users feature, please follow the steps below.

Set Up Auto Assign Users in Jobber

  1. Find the Jobber card and click to open it.

  2. Click on the Edit button on the Jobber integration card to open its settings.

  3. Within the settings, you will find an option called "Auto Assign Users." Check this box if you want Jobber to automatically assign users to new Clients, Quotes, and Jobs in CompanyCam.

Note: This Auto Assign Users feature does not apply to Client Requests in Jobber; it only works for new Clients, Quotes, and Jobs.

  4. After selecting Auto Assign Users, click Save to apply your changes.

    • For automatic user assignment to work correctly, make sure that the email addresses for users in Jobber match those in CompanyCam.

    • When enabled, users assigned through Jobber will overwrite any existing users assigned to the corresponding project in CompanyCam.

  5. At this point, your Jobber integration is fully set up and ready to use according to your preferences.

  6. If you experience any issues or the integration isn’t behaving as expected, you can disconnect the integration and reconnect it to refresh the connection. You can also disconnect it at any time if you no longer want the integration active.

Creating a Link to CompanyCam in Jobber with a Custom Field

Note: You must be on the Connect or Grow plan for Jobber to use custom fields.

CompanyCam will automatically set the URL of the CompanyCam Project created from a Property if you have the custom field CompanyCam Project created for properties on Jobber. This allows you to quickly open up the CompanyCam Project from the Quotes, Jobs, or Invoice page for that Property.

Steps to enable:

  1. Click the Gear on the top right of the home page, and then click Settings.

  2. Select the Custom Fields section in the middle-left sidebar.

  3. Add a new Property Custom Field by clicking + Add Field.

  4. Enter the information for the custom field exactly as shown in the screenshot below. Click Create Custom Field, and you're done!

Please Note: Make sure the custom field name is named exactly "CompanyCam Project" with a space.

Important details about this integration

Connecting existing CompanyCam Projects to new Jobber Entries

If you're a CompanyCam user who is adding Jobber to your workflow, a new CompanyCam Project will be created with the Jobber connection information. To get the photos and videos from the original CompanyCam project into the Jobber Project use the Merge Project Tool and be sure to keep the Project created by the Jobber integration.

Linking notes to invoices and deleting

Now that you have the photos imported as attachments associated with your Request, Quote, or Job, you can choose to link the note to related invoices. To get this view, hover over the photos and the white space around the photos will turn yellow. You'll have the view below. Choose Invoices under "Link note to related" to give a link to the photos in the emailed invoice.

How it works

When you add a new Property for a Client in Jobber, a new project will automatically be created in CompanyCam. Then, whenever you add a Request, Quote, or Job for that property, the CompanyCam project label will update to match it (like "Jobber Request," "Jobber Quote," or "Jobber Job"). Any photos or videos you take will sync to the right Jobber entry.

Heads-up: If the Jobber record remains a Client only and no Request, Quote, or Job has been set up, any photos or videos added to the CompanyCam project won’t sync.

If the property already has a Project in CompanyCam, adding a new Request, Quote, or Job won’t create a new Project. The existing project will just update its label, and new photos or videos will sync to the new entry in Jobber. This keeps everything in one CompanyCam project, but still separates things in Jobber.

If you create a Request, Quote, or Job for a property that doesn’t have a project in CompanyCam yet, a new project will be created.

  1. If the Client isn't already in the system, just click Create on the left-hand bar and then select Client.

  2. Enter the First Name, Last Name, Property Address, and any other details you want. Then, hit Save Client.

  3. This will create the Client and take you to their page, plus it’ll trigger a Project to be created in CompanyCam with the label "Jobber Property".

Heads up: At this point, any photos or videos uploaded to the CompanyCam project won’t sync back to the Client in Jobber just yet. To get the sync working, you’ll need to create a Request, Quote, or Job.

  4. To create a Request, Quote, or Job for the Client, open their page, click the ...More Actions button in the top right corner, and choose the option you want to create.

  5. Photos and videos on a Jobber entry, such as Requests that are converted to a Quote or a Quote converted to a Job, WILL NOT automatically pull into the newly converted Quote or Job. You can check the box in the notes section, and this will allow those photos and videos to pull to the converted Entry:

  6. Once you create the Request, Quote, or Job, the Project in CompanyCam will update with one of these labels: "Jobber Request", "Jobber Quote", or "Jobber Job". This means you're all set to start taking or uploading photos and videos to the Project.

Note: Syncing might take up to 5 minutes.

  7. You will then be able to see the photos and videos in the Requests, Quotes, or Jobs Internal Notes section.

If a Project already exists for the property, the new Request, Quote, or Job will be the one that receives photos and videos. It’ll be labeled to show you exactly where the photos and videos will appear in Jobber (Request, Quote, Job, etc.).

Photos and videos uploaded to the CompanyCam project will sync to the latest Jobber entry for that property. This applies to both one-time and recurring Requests, Quotes, or Jobs. Files will sync as well. If you want to sync Pages or Checklists to Jobber, simply export them as PDFs and save them to your Project’s Files Tab.
