Using the Conversations Hub

Learn how to reply to messages and comments in Project Chat and attach photos directly to a conversation on web and mobile.

Project Chat keeps all your job communication in one place. You can now reply directly to messages and photo comments in a conversation thread, and attach photos to a chat from your Project — whether you're uploading something new or pulling from photos already in CompanyCam.

This feature is in Beta. Plan availability is subject to change.


On the web

Opening the Conversations Hub

Log in to CompanyCam, then click Conversations in the left-hand navigation.

The hub loads your full list of Project Conversations, sorted by most recent activity. Unread conversations are marked at the top.


Replying to a message

Open any conversation from the hub, then click the message you want to reply to. Click Reply and type your response. Click Send.

Replies are grouped under the original message so the thread stays together as the conversation grows.


Attaching a photo to a message

In a Project Conversation, click the Attach Photo Icon in message input, then choose to upload a new photo or select an existing one from the Project.

Note: You can attach 1 photo at a time to a message.

Photo comments left directly on an image in the Project also appear in the Project conversation automatically — the field crew and the office see the same thread.

Opening the Conversations Hub

Open the CompanyCam app, then tap on the Conversations Icon.


Replying to a message

Tap the conversation you want to open, then tap the message you want to reply to. Tap Reply and type your response. Tap Send.


Attaching a photo to a message

In a Project conversation, tap the + or attachment icon in the message bar, then choose to take a new photo or select one from the Project.

Note: You can attach 1 photo at a time to a message.


FAQs

Who can access the Conversations Hub?

All Users on any plan can access the Conversations Hub. Admin, Manager, and Standard Users all have access. See User Permission Roles Explained for details on what each role can do.

Where do photo comments show up?

Photo comments left on an image in a Project are automatically posted to that Project's conversation. You'll see them alongside any direct messages in the same thread.

Can I attach more than 1 photo to a message?

Each message supports 1 photo attachment at a time. Attaching multiple photos in a single message isn't available yet.

Does the Conversations Hub replace Project chat?

The Conversations Hub is a new view of conversations that already exist. It shows all your Project conversations in one place — it doesn't change how messages are sent or stored in individual Projects.

Can I reply to a photo comment from the hub?

Yes. Photo comments appear in the Project conversation, and you can reply to them directly from the hub on web or mobile.
