The camera in the CompanyCam mobile app lets you capture photos directly inside a Project. Snapping photos as you work keeps a visual record of the job, so you have proof of work whenever you need it.
This feature is only available on the mobile app.
Take a photo
Note: Restricted Users can only take photos in Projects they've created or been assigned to.
Tap the Camera Icon at the bottom of the screen.
Open an existing Project, or create a new one.
Tap the Capture Button.
Tap Done when you're finished taking photos.
Using flash and flashlight
CompanyCam offers a few lighting options to help you capture clear photos in low light:
Flash Off (lightning bolt with a slash) - Flash won't fire. Best for well-lit spaces or avoiding glare.
Auto-Flash (lightning bolt with an "A") - Flash fires automatically in low light.
Flash On (lightning bolt) - Flash fires every time you take a photo.
Flashlight (flashlight icon) - Keeps a continuous light on, helpful for navigating dark spaces like crawlspaces, attics, or basements.
Tap the Flash Icon in the Camera view's top right corner to cycle through your options.

CompanyCam tells you another app is using your camera when a different app on your device has the camera open. Your phone only lets 1 app use the camera at a time. Close the other app (video calls, another camera app, or a screen recorder are the usual culprits), then reopen the CompanyCam camera.

Your device's camera permissions need to be enabled for the CompanyCam app, or you won't be able to capture photos directly. If permissions are already on and the camera still won't open, another app may have the camera.
