How to Create and Edit Project Tasks

Project Tasks are quick-add tasks and easily viewable when looking at a Project on web or mobile!

Before you start

  • All permission roles can create and complete Project Tasks. Only Admins and Managers can edit and delete Project Tasks.

  • Project Tasks can be shared with or viewed by Collaborators.

  • Project Tasks cannot be assigned to Users, or used in Project Templates.

What is the Difference between a Project Task and a Checklist?

  • Project Tasks are great for non-repeatable, one-off tasks for a project. They can act as simpler to-dos or a punch list for specific tasks to complete on the project.

  • Checklist Tasks act as more detailed information capture taking place in the field to give a detailed view of conditions and steps to follow when completing work and can be assigned to users.

How to Create Project Tasks

On the web

  1. Log into CompanyCam.

  2. Open the Project that you'd like to add a Task for.

  3. Under the Tasks section within the right-hand panel, click + New Task to create a Task.

  4. To add additional Tasks use the Enter key, and continue selecting + New Task.

  5. Click on the Circle Icon next to the Task to mark it as completed. Completed Tasks will automatically be moved to the Show Completed section which appears as Hide Completed when expanded.

    OR

  1. Log into CompanyCam.

  2. Open the Project that you'd like to add a Task for.

  3. Click on a photo to open it.

  4. Select the + New Task to create a Task for the photo.

  5. Once the Task has been added to the photo, a reference photo will be added as a thumbnail to the general Tasks section of the Project.

  6. Click on the Circle Icon next to the Task to mark it as completed.

In the app

  1. Open the Project you'd like to add a Task for.

  2. Tap on the Tasks Tab within the Project screen. Tap on the + Tasks button to create a new Task. Once done, tap on the blue Create New Task button.

  3. Tap on the Circle Icon next to the Task to mark it as completed.

OR

  1. Open the Project you'd like to add a Task for.

  2. Open the Photos Section of the Project and select a photo.

  3. Tap on the Tasks Icon, type in the Task, then tap on Create New Task.

  4. Once the Task has been added to the photo, a reference photo will be added as a thumbnail to the general Tasks section of the Project.

  5. Tap on the Circle Icon next to the Task to mark it as completed.

How to Edit and Delete Project Tasks

On the web

  1. To Edit a Task, click on the Task you'd like to make changes to by opening the photo or making the changes within the Tasks section on the Project page. Once you have added the edits, the Task will automatically save.

  2. To delete a Task, hover or click on the Task you'd like to delete and then click on the Trash Can Icon. Note: Once Tasks have been deleted, they cannot be restored.

In the app

  1. To Edit a Task, tap on the Task you'd like to make changes to by opening the photo or making the changes within the Tasks tab from the Project view. Once you have added the edits, tap Save.

  2. To delete a Task, tap on the Trash Can Icon. Note: Once Tasks have been deleted, they cannot be restored.
