Moving Photos

Photos sometimes end up in the wrong Project — a crew member picks the wrong job, or photos get uploaded before a Project exists. Here's how to move photos from one Project to another on the web and in the mobile app.

On the web

Note: Admins, Managers, and Standard Users can move photos. If you don't have one of these roles, ask an Admin on your account for permission.

  1. Log in to CompanyCam and open the Project with the photos you want to move.

  2. Click the Square Icon in the upper-left corner of each photo you want to move. To select a range of photos, click the first photo, hold Shift, then click the last photo, and everything in between will be selected automatically.

  3. Click Actions in the menu that appears.

  4. Click Move.

  5. Search for the Project you want to move the photos into, then select it from the results.

  6. Click Move Photos to complete the move.

In the app

  1. Open the Project with the photos you want to move.

  2. Press and hold the photo you want to move to select it. To select multiple photos instead, tap the Select Icon to the right of your photos, then tap the Circle Icon in the upper-left corner of each photo you want to include.

  3. Tap the 3 Dots Icon in the lower-right corner.

  4. Tap Move to Project.

  5. Search for the Project you want to move the photos into, then select it. The photos move automatically once you select the Project.

FAQs

Can you move photos into or out of a Project with an active Collaboration?

You cannot move photos into or out of any Project that has an active Collaboration. If you're no longer working with a Collaborator on a Project, you can end the Project Collaboration and move the photos.

What should I do if my Collaborator uploaded photos to a personal Project instead of the Collaborated Project and I can’t see them?

If your Collaborator uploaded photos to a personal Project instead of the Project with the active Collaboration, the Collaborator must download the photos from their personal Project and reupload them to the correct Project.

What should I do if one of my Users uploaded photos to the wrong Project?

If one of your Users accidentally uploaded photos to the wrong Project, you can locate them using the Photo Feed in the web app and use the filtering tools to narrow down your search. Once located, follow the steps in the article above to move the photos to the correct Project. Please note that if photos are uploaded into a Project with an active Collaboration, they cannot be moved until the Collaboration has ended.
