Using Global Search

Learn how to use global search on web and mobile to quickly find Projects, Users, Groups, Comments, Documents, Contacts, Labels, and Tags.

Global search lets you find Projects, Users, Comments, Contacts, Labels, and Tags from a single search bar. Instead of digging through individual Projects, type a keyword, and CompanyCam surfaces every matching result across your account, sorted into tabs by category.


On the web

  1. Click the Search bar in the left-hand navigation.

  2. Type your search term into the search bar.

  3. Results will pull from the following categories:

    • Projects

    • Project Groups

    • Users

    • User Groups

    • Comments

    • Documents

    • Contacts

    • Labels

    • Tags

  4. Use the Type and Project filters to narrow your results.

Note: Global search recognizes common address abbreviations. Searching “Boulevard” also returns results with “Blvd.,” and searching “Apartment” also returns results with “Apt.”


In the app

  1. Tap the Search Icon on the Home screen.

  2. Type your search term, then tap a category tab to narrow your results.

Can I search using an address abbreviation, like Blvd or Apt?

Global search does recognize common address abbreviations. Searching “Boulevard” returns results for “Blvd,” and searching “Apartment” returns results for “Apt,” along with similar abbreviations like Pkwy, Ste, and Plz.
