Just downloaded the app and ready to snap some photos? Here’s how to get started in CompanyCam!

Updated today

Before you start

  • Taking photos in CompanyCam is an account-level feature and is available to all Permission Roles. Restricted Users can only take photos on Projects they've created or have been assigned to.

  • Make sure your device’s camera permissions are enabled for the CompanyCam app; otherwise, you won’t be able to capture photos directly.

  • You’ll need to be inside a Project to take or upload photos. If you don’t already have one set up, check out this guide: Create a New Project.

In the app

Take Photos

  1. Open a Project in the mobile app.

  2. Tap the Camera Icon.

  3. Press the Capture Button to take your photo.

  4. When finished, tap Done.

When taking photos in CompanyCam, you can adjust your Image Quality and Aspect Ratio to best fit your needs.

From the Home Screen

  1. On the Home screen, tap My Stuff at the bottom right corner.

  2. Tap the Gear Icon in the top right to open Settings.

  3. Select Camera.

  4. Make your adjustments as needed.

From the Camera

  1. While in the Camera view, tap the Gear Icon in the top right.

  2. Select All Camera Settings.

  3. Make your adjustments as needed.

From here, you’ll be able to adjust two main options: Image Quality and Aspect Ratio. These settings let you balance file size, photo detail, and framing based on what matters most for your work.

Image Quality

  • Normal – Smallest image size, recommended if you are concerned about data usage.

  • High – Balanced option for good quality and reasonable file size.

  • Super Fine – Better quality, best for everyday use.

  • Ultra – Highest quality, recommended when capturing the best possible image matters most.

Image Aspect Ratio

  • 4:3 – Standard photo ratio, captures more vertical space.

  • 16:9 – Wide format, good for landscape-style photos.

Please note that any changes you make to Camera Settings will only apply to new photos you take. Existing photos in your Projects won’t be affected.
