Before you start
You must have active accounts with both CompanyCam and Dropbox.
Integrations require specific plan levels. Ensure that you’re on a paid plan in CompanyCam and the correct plan in Dropbox to utilize this integration.
You must have Admin or Manager privileges in both CompanyCam and the correct permissions in Dropbox. If you are on a Personal Dropbox Plan, anyone can integrate. If you are using Dropbox Team, then anyone who is a part of the shared folder can integrate. If you or another User needs their permissions updated in CompanyCam, here is how.
What is Dropbox?
Dropbox is a cloud storage service that allows users to store, sync, and share files online, offering features to access and collaborate on content from any device!
Please Note:
This Integration will only sync new Projects created after integrating with Dropbox. There is not currently a Historic Sync available at this time.
You can move any Dropbox folders as needed within your Dropbox account. For example, if you need to move your Dropbox Folder that has all your CompanyCam Projects, you can just select the gear option and choose "Move."
If you are setting up a Dropbox Business account with CompanyCam, you can copy your Dropbox Business Team link and paste this into the CompanyCam integration field and then hit Connect. If you are using a Dropbox Personal account, no share link is required for setup just choose Connect.
Setup
Start in CompanyCam. Under Resources, select the Integrations Tab.
Click into the Dropbox Card.
Click Connect.
Copy and paste a shared team folder link if you'd like to create and sync to a Dropbox Business team account. Leave this field blank if you'd like to create and sync to your Dropbox Personal account. Then click Connect.
That's it! You should now be connected to Dropbox.
How it works
Once the Integration is connected, a CompanyCam root folder will be synced to Dropbox. Anytime a new Project is created in CompanyCam, a new subfolder will be added automatically. Photos, videos, and documents added to CompanyCam will sync to the matching Dropbox record.
Once Integrated, you should see that a new main "CompanyCam Projects" folder is created in Dropbox. This is where your subfolders for your Projects will go. Those sub-folders will include photos, videos, and documents from the tied CompanyCam Project. If you set up a Business Shared folder, this is where your "CompanyCam Projects" folder would be located.
Next, create CompanyCam Projects as normal. When you create a new Project in CompanyCam, a matching subfolder will be added to your Root CompanyCam Folder in Dropbox. The CompanyCam Project will include a Dropbox Label showing you that it is integrated with Dropbox.
When photos, videos, and documents are added in CompanyCam, these will sync to the subfolder tied to Dropbox.
FAQSCan I sync previously created CompanyCam Projects to Dropbox, or only ones created after I integrated?
The integration will only work for Projects created after integrating!
Do I need to pay any other additional fees to utilize the integration with Dropbox?
No, there are no other fees associated other than being on a paid CompanyCam plan and having the proper plan in Dropbox!
Does each individual user need to integrate, or just the Admin?
Only the Admin needs to integrate! Once connected, you can move the Parent folder if needed to give everyone access, and any User's content will sync.
