Integrate CompanyCam + Google Drive

Before you start

  • You must have active accounts with both CompanyCam and Google Drive

  • Integrations require specific plan levels. Ensure that you’re on a paid plan in CompanyCam and the correct plan in Google Drive to utilize this integration.

  • You must have Admin or Manager privileges in CompanyCam and the correct permissions in Google Drive. If you or another User needs their permissions updated in CompanyCam here is how.


What is Google Drive?



Google Drive, part of Google Workspace, lets you securely store, intelligently organize, and collaborate on files and folders from anywhere, on any device!

With Google Drive, you can safely store and access your files anywhere. Edit and store 100+ file types, including PDFs, Office files, videos, and more!


Setup

Please Note: You can move the CompanyCam Folder to a shared drive as needed once the Parent folder is initially created



​1. Start in CompanyCam. Under Resources, select the Integrations button.



2. Find the Google Drive card and select it.



3. Select Connect.



4. Hit Save.


5. Next it will have you choose which Google account you're looking to integrate with. Choose the correct one in your case and then hit "Allow."





6. That's it! You should now be connected to Google Drive.



How it works

When you first connect the integration, this will create a folder called CompanyCam. From here, any new Projects added to CompanyCam will create a sub-folder in Google Drive under your main folder. PLEASE NOTE: YOU CAN MOVE THIS PARENT FOLDER TO A SHARE DRIVE OR WHEREVER YOU NEED IN GOOGLE DRIVE.

Then Photos, Videos, and Documents will sync to that subfolder created from CompanyCam! If the subfolder is moved to another location new content will still sync back to the subfolder in Google Drive.

​1. Once Integrated you should see that a new main "CompanyCam Projects" folder is created. This is where your subfolders for your Projects will go. Those sub-folders will include Photos, Videos, and Documents from the tied CompanyCam project.



2. Next simply work on your CompanyCam projects as normal! When you create a new Project in CompanyCam a matching sub folder will be added to your main CompanyCam Folder in Google Drive.




3. When Photos, Videos, or Documents are captured within CompanyCam, these will then sync to that tied subfolder in Google Drive.

FAQS

  • Can I sync previously created CompanyCam Projects to Google Drive, or only ones created after I integrated?

    • The integration will only work for Projects created after integrating!

  • Do I need to pay any other additional fees to utilize the integration with Google Drive?

    • No, there are no other fees associated other than being on a paid CompanyCam plan and having the proper plan in Google Drive!

  • Does each individual user need to integrate, or just the Admin?

    • Only the Admin needs to integrate! Once connected, you can move the Parent folder to a shared drive if needed to give everyone access, and any User's content will sync to that shared drive in Google Drive!
