Before you start
You must have active accounts with both CompanyCam and SharePoint
Integrations require specific plan levels. Ensure that you’re on a paid plan in CompanyCam and the correct plan in SharePoint to utilize this integration.
You must have Admin or Manager privileges in CompanyCam and the correct permissions in Dropbox. It is recommended that a SharePoint Admin integrate so you have access to all subfolders that you may wish to sync content back to. If you or another User needs their permissions updated in CompanyCam, here is how.
What is Microsoft SharePoint?
Microsoft SharePoint is a cloud-based service that helps teams of all sizes collaborate and manage their documents! With Microsoft SharePoint on your PC, Mac, or mobile device, you can:
Build intranet sites and create pages, document libraries, and lists.
Add web parts to customize your content.
Show important visuals, news, and updates with a team or communication site.
Discover, follow, and search for sites, files, and people across your company.
Manage your daily routine with workflows, forms, and lists.
Sync and store your files in the cloud so anyone can securely work with you.
Catch up on news on the go with the mobile app.
Setup
Start in CompanyCam and select the Integrations tab on the left-hand side.
Find the Microsoft SharePoint Online Card and select it.
Hit Connect in the top right. Then once more in the next screen.
At this point, you need to select the Site and Library within SharePoint to which you'd like your content to sync. This is the path where Projects and their content will sync. Once you choose those, hit Save.
Once that saves, you are now connected to SharePoint! A CompanyCam Project root folder will be created in SharePoint, and new Projects and content that you add in CompanyCam will sync there in SharePoint automatically!
How it works
Once you integrate, a CompanyCam Root Folder will be created in SharePoint. Anytime a new Project is created in CompanyCam, a new subfolder will be created here automatically. Those sub-folders will include photos, videos, and documents from the tied CompanyCam Project.
Once Integrated, you should see that a new main "CompanyCam" folder is created in SharePoint where you set up the integration to sync. This is where your subfolders for your Projects will go. Those sub-folders will include photos, videos, and documents from the tied CompanyCam Project.
Next, create CompanyCam Projects as normal. When you create a new Project in CompanyCam, a matching subfolder will be added to your Root CompanyCam Folder in SharePoint. The CompanyCam Project will include a "Microsoft SharePoint Online" Label showing you that it is integrated.
When photos, videos, and documents are added in CompanyCam, these will sync to SharePoint under either the Photos or Documents section of the Project subfolder.
The "Photos" folder will show you all the photos and videos for the matching Project. Documents in companyCam will sync to the "Documents" subfolder.
FAQS
Can I sync previously created CompanyCam Projects to SharePoint, or only ones created after I integrated?
The integration will only work for Projects created after integrating!
Do I need to pay any other additional fees to utilize the integration with SharePoint?
No, there are no other fees associated other than being on a paid CompanyCam plan and having the proper plan set up in SharePoint.
Does each individual user need to integrate, or just the Manager or Admin?
Only the Manager or Admin needs to integrate! Just make sure they have Admin access in SharePoint so they can access the Folders your team needs to set up.
