Connecting CompanyCam to Housecall Pro

Learn how to connect CompanyCam to Housecall Pro and configure sync settings so Estimates or Jobs automatically create a matching CompanyCam Project.

Housecall Pro is field service management software that helps home service companies schedule jobs, manage customers, and get paid. Connecting it to CompanyCam means your job site photos, videos, and files land right in the matching Housecall Pro record without anyone uploading anything twice.

This article covers making the connection. For how syncing behaves day to day — including which Estimate or Job receives your uploads — see Using the CompanyCam + Housecall Pro Integration.

This integration is only available on the web app.

Setting up the integration

Note: You must have Admin or Manager permissions in both CompanyCam and Housecall Pro to set up this integration.

  1. Click App Marketplace in the left-hand navigation under Integrations.

  2. Search for Housecall Pro.

  3. Click the Housecall Pro card.

  4. Click Connect.

  5. Choose your sync settings:

    • Sync Primary Contacts from Housecall Pro into CompanyCam — turning this on brings each Customer's primary contact phone number and email into the Customers section of the matching CompanyCam Project once that Project exists.

    • Sync CompanyCam content to Housecall Pro Estimates, Jobs, or both — this determines which record type can trigger a Project and receive synced content for a given Address. Choosing Estimates means only Estimates create Projects and receive content; choosing Jobs means only Jobs do; choosing both means either can, depending on which is created first under that Address.

    • Automatically assign Housecall Pro Users to the matching CompanyCam Project — this requires each User's email in Housecall Pro to match their email in CompanyCam.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Sign in to Housecall Pro when prompted.

Once connected, the card's status changes from Connect to Connected.

Important: Turning on automatic User assignment overwrites existing Project assignments. Users assigned in Housecall Pro replace any Users previously assigned to linked CompanyCam Projects. Manually created Projects not linked to a Housecall Pro record aren't affected.

FAQs

What do I need before connecting Housecall Pro?

To connect Housecall Pro, you need an active CompanyCam account, an active Housecall Pro account, and Admin or Manager permissions in both.

What does Sync Primary Contacts do?

Sync Primary Contacts pulls each Customer's phone number and email from Housecall Pro into the Customers section of the matching CompanyCam Project.

Does automatic User assignment require matching emails?

Automatic User assignment does require matching emails. If a User's email in Housecall Pro doesn't match their email in CompanyCam, CompanyCam can't automatically assign that User to the Project.

What happens to existing assignments when I enable this?

Existing Project assignments are replaced. For Projects already linked to a Housecall Pro Estimate or Job, any Users assigned in CompanyCam are unassigned and replaced with the Users assigned to the matching Estimate or Job in Housecall Pro. Manually created Projects not linked to a Housecall Pro record aren't affected

Can I change my sync settings after connecting?

You can change your sync settings any time. Click App Marketplace in the left-hand navigation under Integrations, search for the Housecall Pro card, and click Edit.

How do I disconnect the integration?

You can disconnect the integration from App Marketplace at any time. Click App Marketplace in the left-hand navigation under Integrations, search for the Housecall Pro card, and click Disconnect. Disconnecting stops new syncing but doesn't delete Projects, photos, or files that have already synced.
