Create and Use Report Templates

Reports are an important part of CompanyCam and new Report Templates make it easy to have masters for the Report types you create the most.

Before you start

Plan Requirements

  • This feature is available on select plans. If you’re interested in access, our team is available to help walk you through your options.

Permission Roles

  • To create Report Templates, you need to have the Admin or Manager role. If you don't have that role, ask an Admin on your company's account for permission.

  • All User roles can use existing Report Templates.

Platform Availability

  • Report Templates can only be managed on the web app.

On the web

Create a Report Template

  1. Log in to CompanyCam.

  2. Open the Report you'd like to create a Template from. To do this, start by clicking Reports on the left side panel. You can also access the Reports from the Reports tab inside a Project.

  3. To create the Template, click Manage in the upper right corner of the Report, then Save as Template.

  4. Here, you will add a Template Name and a Template Description.

  5. Click Save to create the Template.

Using a Report Template

  1. Open the Project you'd like to build a Report for and click on the Reports Tab or open Reports on the left side panel.

  2. Click on the blue Create Report button, and select Use Existing Template.

  3. Click on the Template you'd like to use and it will be added to your Project.

FAQs

Do I need to create a Report before it can be saved as a Template?

No, you don't need to create a Report first to save it as a template. You can create a Report Template from scratch in the Template Manager.

What content is saved when I save a Report as a Template?

The Report's structure and Section Summaries will be saved as a Template; however, other content, such as photos, will not be saved.
