Using the CompanyCam + Leap Integration

Learn how to link CompanyCam Projects to Leap Jobs and save photos and files to Leap for estimates and invoices.

Before getting started, make sure you've already connected your CompanyCam and Leap accounts. Once connected, a Leap Job and a CompanyCam Project can be linked three different ways, and you choose which photos and files to save into a Job's folder for use in estimates and invoices.

How the integration works

A CompanyCam Project can be connected to a Leap Job in one of three ways: automatically when the Job is created, manually after the fact (Sync), or by linking to a Project that already exists (Link). Photos and files sync from CompanyCam to Leap — you select which ones to save into a Job's folder, and from there they're available for estimates and invoices. Pages and Checklists don't sync.

Creating a Project automatically when you create a Job

  1. When adding a Job to a Lead, Prospect, or Customer in Leap, make sure the CompanyCam checkbox is checked.

  2. Click Save. A Project is created in CompanyCam using the Customer's name, address, and Job name.

Creating a Project after a Job already exists

Use this if a Job already exists in Leap without a linked Project.

  1. Open the Job you want to link.

  2. Click View All next to Recent Photos and Documents.

  3. Click the two-arrows icon, then click Sync.

  4. Confirm that you want to sync the Job with CompanyCam.

Note: Sync creates a new CompanyCam Project for this Job. If a Project for this job already exists in CompanyCam, use Link instead so you don't end up with duplicates.

Linking an existing Project to a Job

Use this if you already have a CompanyCam Project you want to connect to a Leap Job — whether that Project was created manually in CompanyCam or existed before you connected the integration.

  1. Open the Job you want to link.

  2. Click View All next to Recent Photos and Documents.

  3. Click the two-arrows icon, then click Link.

  4. Choose the CompanyCam Project you want to link, then click Proceed.

Note: Once a Project is linked to a Job, both existing and new photos and files in that Project are available to save into the Job.

Saving Photos and Files to a Leap Job

Once a Leap Job and a CompanyCam Project are linked, you can save specific photos to that Job's folder for use in estimates and invoices.

  1. In the Job's Photos & Documents section, click View.

  2. Find the photo you want, click the three dots icon in the bottom-right corner, and select Save In Job.

Note: To use a photo in an estimate or invoice, save it into the Job's Photos folder. Photos aren't available to attach to estimates or invoices until they're saved into that folder.

FAQs

Do photos sync to Leap automatically?

Photos taken in CompanyCam become available to view in a linked Leap Job, but they don't attach to that Job automatically. You need to select each photo and choose Save In Job to make it available for estimates and invoices.

What's the difference between Sync and Link?

Sync creates a brand-new CompanyCam Project for a Leap Job that doesn't have one yet. Link connects a Job to a CompanyCam Project that already exists. Use Link if you already have a Project for that job to avoid creating a duplicate.

Do Pages or Checklists sync to Leap?

No. Only photos and files sync from CompanyCam to Leap. Pages and Checklists don't sync automatically.

If I link an existing Project to a Job, will my old photos be available in Leap?

Yes. Once a Project is linked to a Job, all of its photos and files — including ones added before the link — become available to save into the Job.
