Connecting and Using CompanyCam with Zapier

Connect CompanyCam to Zapier to build Zaps that move data between CompanyCam and thousands of other apps.

Zapier is an automation platform that connects CompanyCam to thousands of other apps, from CRMs to spreadsheets to messaging tools. Instead of a single fixed sync, you build your own automated workflows — called Zaps — that move data into or out of CompanyCam whenever something happens in either app. This article covers connecting your CompanyCam account to Zapier and building your first Zaps.

This feature is only available on the web app.

How the integration works

Every Zap is built from one Trigger and one or more Actions. A Trigger is the event that starts the Zap, and an Action is the task Zapier completes once it's triggered. CompanyCam can act as either piece: it can start a Zap when something happens in CompanyCam, or it can be the app that receives data and completes a task when a Zap is triggered somewhere else. Once you've connected your CompanyCam account for a Trigger or an Action, you can reuse that same connection in future Zaps without signing in again.

CompanyCam → Zapier → Your other app: "Something happens in CompanyCam, like a new photo or project"

Your other app → Zapier → CompanyCam: "Something happens in another app, and CompanyCam completes a task"

Setting up the integration

Note: You must have the Admin role to connect CompanyCam to Zapier.

  1. Log in to Zapier or create an account.

  2. Click Create, then select Zaps.

  3. Name your Zap.

  4. Search for and select CompanyCam as your Trigger or Action app.

  5. Choose the event you want to use, then click Continue.

  6. Click Sign in to CompanyCam, then Authorize to give Zapier access to your account. If you're already signed in to CompanyCam, this connects automatically. If you've connected CompanyCam in a different Zap before, select that existing connection instead of signing in again.

  7. Click Test, then Continue. A successful test shows sample data from CompanyCam so you know what's available for the rest of your Zap.

Building a Zap with a CompanyCam Trigger

Use a CompanyCam Trigger to kick off a Zap when something happens in CompanyCam — for example, syncing new photos to another app.

  1. Choose your CompanyCam Trigger event, then finish connecting your account as described above.

  2. Click Choose an Action App, then search for the app you want to send data to. Zapier supports thousands of Action apps, including CRMs, spreadsheets, and storage tools.

  3. Map the fields in your Action step to the CompanyCam data from your Trigger.

  4. Click Test step. If the output looks right, click Publish.

  5. Turn the Zap on, then confirm new CompanyCam activity flows into your Action app as expected.

FAQs

Do I need a separate Zap for each workflow?

Each automation you want runs as its own Zap, built from one Trigger and one or more Actions. If you want CompanyCam to talk to several different apps in different ways, you'll build a separate Zap for each one.

What data syncs between CompanyCam and my other apps?

Nothing syncs automatically just by connecting your account. Data only moves between CompanyCam and another app when it's included in a Zap you've built and turned on.

Can I reuse my CompanyCam connection across multiple Zaps?

Yes. Once you've connected a CompanyCam account for a Trigger or an Action, that connection is available to select in future Zaps without signing in again.

Can I connect CompanyCam to Zapier from the CompanyCam mobile app?

No. Integrations can't be set up in the CompanyCam mobile app. Connect and build your Zaps using a web browser.

Who do I contact if a Zap isn't working?

It depends on where the issue is. Contact our support team for issues connecting your CompanyCam account, or contact Zapier support for help with a specific Zap's setup or logic.
