A Price Book gives your team a central list of pre-built line items to pull from when you build Proposals. Instead of typing prices and descriptions from scratch every time, you standardize your offerings, and any markup or tax setting you apply carries over automatically wherever you use the item.
Price Book is available to all customers in the US and Canada. Managing Price Book line items is only available on the web app.
On the web
Creating line items
Note: Admins and Managers can create, edit, and manage Price Book line items. Standard and Restricted Users can add existing line items to a Proposal.
Click Sales > Price Book in the left-hand navigation menu.
Click + Add Item.
Add a Name, Unit cost, and Unit Type. Description is optional.
Set a Markup percentage if you mark up this item.
Toggle on Non-Taxable Item if it shouldn't be taxed.
Click Add Item to save it to your Price Book.
Note: Markup and Non-Taxable status set on a Price Book item carry over automatically when you add that item to an Invoice or a Proposal. Editing the line item on the Invoice or Proposal doesn't change the original Price Book item.
Editing and managing line items
Click Sales > Price Book, find the line item you want to update, then click the 3 Dot Icon next to it. Click Edit to update the item, or Delete to remove it.
To clear out everything you brought in through a CSV, click Delete all imported items, then confirm. Items you added by hand stay put.
Important: Deleting all imported items is permanent. There's no undo.
Importing a Price Book with a CSV
Your CSV needs column headers that match the Price Book fields: Item name, Description, Unit cost, and Unit. Prices are read as dollars.
Click Import from CSV.
Select your CSV file.
Review how CompanyCam matched your columns to the Price Book fields.
Click Confirm & Import.
If a column shows as Not detected, the import fails. Rename that column header in your CSV to match the Price Book field exactly, then import again.
Saving a line item from a Proposal
Note: All Users can save line items from a Proposal to the Price Book. Only Admins and Managers can edit or delete them afterward.
Open a Project > click Sales > open a Proposal > scroll to Line Items. Click the line item you want to save, toggle on Save to Price Book, then click Save Item. If your Price Book already has an item with that name, you'll be asked to rename it.

Saving an item with a name that's already in your Price Book prompts you to rename it before it saves. Duplicate names aren't allowed.
